dob 17.03.1946. English, father from English West Country, mother from Germany, a Jewish refugee. Lived in London till 1989, then came to Stoke-on-Trent, where I am now. Began working life as a common labourer, then moved on to Primary school teaching in 1974, retiring in 2006. Always involved in left-wing politics as activist in various fields. Also a performer since my teens of traditional British music. Have written music, songs and poetry which have all gained me a small reputation. Now confined to a retirement home, recovering from a stroke. Using this blog for my opinionating on the understanding that if I can't do what I want I should do what I can. A life-long victim of chronic depression, which I have fought and largely defeated. I have been helped in this endeavour by my art and also by attachment to Arsenal FC. That's the gist of it: the barest bones of a very complicated life.
